Volunteer opportunities
Become a Neighborhood Coordinator
Neighborhood Coordinators collect donated food from their neighbors once a month and bring it to the Child Food Hub (2436 S. Miami Blvd.). Whether you collect from 2, 20, or 200 porches – we need your help! Check out our list of active neighborhoods to see if your neighborhood already participates in PORCH-Durham collections. Volunteer on Collection Day
Our collection day volunteers help unload donated food from vehicles, sort it, and prepare customized deliveries for the distribution partners being served that week. Be prepared to be on your feet, lifting/lowering items and getting your steps in! Shifts are 2nd and 4th Mondays from 8:30-10:30 am and take place at the Child Food Hub (2436 S. Miami Blvd.). Sign up below to volunteer to unload and sort on an upcoming collection day (space is limited).
Deliver to one of our Distribution Partners
Delivery drivers transport assembled deliveries of nonperishables to school and community pantry sites. You will arrive at the Child Food Hub (2436 S. Miami Blvd.) between 10:30-11 am on 2nd or 4th Monday and will be assigned a delivery location in Durham. You’ll need reliable transportation for this shift (SUVs or large trunks preferred). Children are welcome to help. Sign up below to make a delivery to one of our distribution partners (space is limited).
